Section 3 is a provision in the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (12 U.S.C. Section 1701u and 24 C.F.R. Section 135) that seeks to ensure that economic opportunities, to the greatest extent feasible, are given to low and very low-income persons. Under Section 3, certain contractors must provide hiring, training, contract opportunities, and/or other economic opportunities for Section 3 residents and businesses.

Internship Opportunities

CARE Housing is an approved local internship placement site by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies for learning experiences for CSU HDFS B.S. intern program students. The internship program offers students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds the opportunity to place their classroom knowledge into real-world experiences and gain hands-on experience with CARE Housing through experiential learning opportunities.

Interns at CARE Housing get experiential learning opportunities in the Human Development and Family Studies sector and meaningful internship experience that will support their academic, professional, and personal development.
