The CARE Board of Directors has established the Sister Mary Alice Murphy Legacy Fund to recognize and honor Sister’s vision and contribution as CARE’s founding director and her lasting legacy as a tireless advocate of affordable housing.

In recognizing the efforts of Sister Mary Alice and the founders of CARE, the Legacy Fund serves as a direct and enduring link to CARE’s original mission. It also provides an opportunity for each of us to contribute to the living legacy of CARE’s mission:

• Provide affordable housing for the working families.

• Provide supportive services to strengthen and empower families and build community.

The goal of the Legacy Fund is to support CARE residents who face temporary barriers to life-changing opportunities. For example, Legacy Fund contributions will be used to fund such CARE Support Services programs as emergency assistance, youth tutoring programs, adult continuing education and so forth.

Please join us in carrying on what Sister has demonstrated on a daily basis: Vision combined with hard work can work “miracles.”
